Cookies also simplify the use of some web services: in fact, for example, they can be used to keep track of items in an online shopping cart or of the information used to fill in a computer form. However, cookies are also very useful to those who manage websites, because they allow the collection and processing of various personal data (eg: IP address, username, unique identifier or e-mail address) and non-personal data (such as language settings or information on the type of device a person is using to navigate the site): information that can be used for marketing and profiling purposes, and possibly also shared with third parties.
